Technical Guide (Revision 3)

Race Info

Back for a second year, the Firemen's Park Cross now spans 2 days of racing. Saturday will see a citizen event with a slightly different format from the S-Cups (see below). Sunday's race is the final race in the S-Cup series, and should prove to be very exciting. Both courses are new this year, utilizing a different area of the park from last year which has ample parking, washrooms, a playground and dog park.

Starting and finishing on a gravel access road, the courses utilize the park’s many features including fields, lightly wooded areas and an amphitheatre cut into the side of the Niagara Escarpment. Although there is minimal elevation change, there will be ample technical challenge. Saturday’s course will be punchy and will reward a rider who can accelerate out of corners well. Sunday will be a faster course with power sections broken up by some off camber and probably a short runup.

Medals, cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each category. See the tech guide for minimum more information. Additional primes such as a first lap sprint may be announced on race day. Be prepared for anything! Coffee and other hot beverages will be sold by the Stamford Center Volunteer Firemen both days.

Citizen Race Format: In an effort to form bigger fields and promote group racing, categories have been combined for each start time as shown below.
